On November 20 and 21, the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Lyon hosted two days organized by the Historic Brass Society to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the French virtuoso of the valved cornet (and Lyon native) Jean-Baptiste Arban (1825–1889) and the German trumpeter Julius Kosleck (1825–1905).
The event featured numerous lectures and concerts, honoring each day the memory of these two 19th-century “legendary figures” of the trumpet.
